Filk, wRock, tRock, nerdcore are all just different sides of the same coin. Filk is the oldest term for "music by nerds" and really it does incorporate all of the more up to date terms that are used these days. I've always felt that people in the "filk" community have done a very poor job of passing down their art to the new generations. but the art itself is so awesome that it's very vibrant today, especially on youtube, check out many of the dftba records artists, and also check out Lauren fairweather, tally dueshane, hello the future, alex carpenter. it's the new generation of filk artists. but i do think the new generation is missing out on something that's really great, that the old guard of Filkers do and that's the filk sing!!! This song is about singing at a filk sing.

I'm old enough to be some what accepted as a young Filk artist and young enough to be some what accepted as an older youtube nerd rock artist. If I can do anything with my music, besides pay my bills, it would be to bring those generations together. I mean how awesome would it be to have Lesile Fish and Kristina Horner at the same filk sing trading songs back and forth? Someday, I'll make this happen.
